O, Christmas Tree. O, Christmas Tree, what a mess you do make.
You drop your needles down on my floor
You were dropping needles when I brought you through my door.
O, Christmas tree, O, Christmas Tree, what a mess you did make.

Christmas Tree 2008
The tree is gone. I couldn’t take it any longer. I had the Charlie Brown tree this year. It was the worst tree I’ve ever bought. I bought it from the same stand as last year, but I bought a cheaper kind of tree, and it showed. I think the tree really was beyond all hope when I brought it home. I mean, of course it was dead, but I’ve never had a tree drop so many needles. I think there were more needles on the floor than on the tree. Add to the needles my dog Daisy’s shedding fur and you have a lovely mix all over the floor.

Christmas tree minus needles
The first year I ever bought my own Christmas tree, I literally had the tree up until February. It was bone dry, but the needles were in tact. The reason it stayed up so long: I was too lazy to take it down. But, it was festive and I didn’t mind extending the holiday for a while. I barely made it to the New Year with the tree I had in 2008.
The tree was a hopeless case and a bit crooked, but I guess it did the trick. Actually, like Charlie Brown, I felt a bit sorry for it. But, next year I will look for a better tree, even if it does cost more money.
Luckily, my vacuum didn’t break
